# PositionAlpha > PositionAlpha (also written Position Alpha) is a web app with two products. Bot Studio turns a trading idea written in plain English into a MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 trading bot (Expert Advisor) with AI, converts TradingView Pine Script indicators to MQL5, converts MetaTrader 4 Expert Advisors and indicators from MQL4 to MQL5, converts Python trading bots and indicators to MQL5, and fixes or improves Expert Advisors a trader already has. No coding needed. The Quant Platform gives traders the data to build strategies the way quant traders do: weekly COT positioning, candle statistics from up to 30 years of daily prices, and seasonality for 24 markets: commodities, major forex pairs and US stock index ETFs. The full version, with every feature, template, market and FAQ answer in detail, is https://positionalpha.io/llms-full.txt. PositionAlpha is built to be simple and to give results a trader can check. Simple: describe a strategy the way you would explain it to another trader, answer a few multiple-choice questions, pick MT4 or MT5 and download the bot. You never have to write or edit code. Checkable: before any code is written, the AI turns the idea into precise rules (setup, entry, stop loss, exit, filters and risk) for you to confirm, and every bot comes with a plain-English explanation of when it buys and sells, its settings laid out like MetaTrader's Inputs tab, and steps to install and test it. - Website: https://positionalpha.io - What you get: MQL4 (.mq4) or MQL5 (.mq5) source code to review, compile in MetaEditor and test in MetaTrader. The bot runs in the trader's own MetaTrader, on their own broker account. - Who it's for: traders who want to automate a strategy without learning to code; traders moving TradingView indicators, MetaTrader 4 EAs and indicators or Python bots and indicators to MetaTrader 5; traders with an EA that needs fixing or improving; traders who want to research COT positioning, candle statistics and seasonality and turn what they find into rules. - Pricing: Bot Studio is pay per build: building and previewing is free, and each bot, indicator or conversion is a one-time payment to download, with AI revisions and a fix by a professional MQL5 developer included. Fixing an EA you already have is also a one-time payment to download, with AI revisions and no developer fix. The Quant Platform has a free tier (Gold, Crude Oil and EUR/USD) and Pro ($20/month) for every market. Strategy template bots are free. - Sign-in: with a Google account. Public guides, market overviews and the FAQ are open without one. - Company: operated by Momentum Digital LLC (State of Wyoming, United States). Contact: admin@positionalpha.io. ## Features - **Bot Studio**: The default after sign-in, with a sidebar for the six tools (the trading bot builder, which opens first, Pine Script to MQL5, MQL4 to MQL5, Python to MQL5, Fix an EA and Prop Firm Shield), the free templates and My Builds: every build with its status, AI revisions left, download and developer fix. Each tool also has a public page where a visitor can start before signing in; the work begins once they sign in. Building and previewing is free (up to 3 unpaid builds and 10 strategy ideas a day); the preview shows the strategy or report and part of the code. A one-time payment unlocks the file, AI revisions and one fix by a professional MQL5 developer (Fix an EA has no developer fix). Developer Fix Guarantee: If your bot doesn't compile or doesn't follow your rules, one of our developers fixes it by hand, at no extra cost. We reply within 24 hours, and if we can't fix it, you get your money back. We guarantee working code that follows your rules, not trading profits. No one can promise that a bot will make money. Our developers have built 300+ trading bots for prop firms and hedge funds. - **AI Bot Builder**: Describe a strategy in plain English, or start from a template and say what to change. The AI returns one to three concrete readings of the idea (one when it's clear, more when it could mean different strategies), each with its rules, a chart sketch, the market types it tends to suit or struggle in, and up to five questions to settle open details. Refine it in plain English, pick MT4 or MT5, and watch the AI's reasoning and the code as it writes the bot. One bot works on any market: it trades the chart it's attached to, sets stops and targets from that market's own recent range, and has a timeframe setting (daily by default). Change its settings for free, or ask the AI for changes in plain English; every version is saved. - **Strategy templates**: 10 ready-made strategies written for daily candles (trend following, bounce, breakout, price pattern and calendar): Trend Crossover, 20-Day Breakout, RSI(2) Pullback, Bollinger Bounce, Three Down Days, Volatility Breakout, Quiet Day Breakout, Smash Day Reversal, Day-of-Week Bias and Turn of the Month. Each is explained step by step with a chart sketch, shows whether a chosen market's candle statistics lean for or against it, and downloads as an MT4 or MT5 bot instantly. The code is assembled from the strategy's rules without AI, so template bots are free. "Refine with AI" hands a template to the bot builder to change, which makes it a new bot, priced like any other. - **Pine Script to MQL5 converter**: Paste a TradingView indicator (Pine Script v4, v5 or v6) and get a MetaTrader 5 indicator (.mq5) with a part-by-part report: what converted exactly, what had to change for MT5, and what couldn't be converted. Built-ins like ta.atr and ta.rsi are written from Pine's own formulas instead of MetaTrader's look-alikes, which calculate differently. Free to convert and preview; a one-time payment to download. - **MQL4 to MQL5 converter**: Paste or upload a MetaTrader 4 Expert Advisor or custom indicator (.mq4, old start() style or new), say which it is, and get it back as MQL5 for MetaTrader 5 (.mq5) with a part-by-part report: what converted exactly, what had to change for MT5, and what couldn't be converted. Orders become MT5 positions and CTrade calls and indicator calls become handles, while inputs, signals, stops and lot sizing stay as they are. Free to convert and preview; a one-time payment to download. - **Python to MQL5 converter**: Paste or upload a Python trading bot or indicator (.py: a live bot on the MetaTrader5 package or ccxt, a backtest strategy in backtrader or backtesting.py, or a pandas script), say which it is, and get it back as MQL5 for MetaTrader 5 (.mq5) with a part-by-part report: what converted exactly, what had to change for MetaTrader, and what couldn't be converted. Loops become MetaTrader's events, pandas columns become bar-by-bar calculations from the formulas the code really uses, and orders become CTrade calls, while settings, signals and stops stay as they are. Free to convert and preview; a one-time payment to download. - **Fix an EA**: Paste or upload the source code of an Expert Advisor you already have (.mq4 or .mq5, not a compiled .ex4 or .ex5) and say what's wrong or what to improve. The AI returns the complete updated file, with the problems it found and the changes it made explained. Free to run and see the report and part of the code; a one-time payment unlocks the file and AI revisions. It doesn't include a developer fix, and the Developer Fix Guarantee doesn't cover it. - **Prop Firm Shield**: For a trader on a prop firm challenge, with an MT5 Expert Advisor's .mq5 source code. Pick the challenge and upload the EA: prewritten code goes around it, and the EA's own lines aren't changed. At the daily loss and overall loss lines, and at the profit target, it closes every position on the account and stops. The AI writes no code here: it reads the EA and reports what could still cost the challenge. Free to run and read, then a one-time payment to download, with 3 AI revisions and no developer fix. - **Market research**: The Quant Platform. For 24 markets (13 commodities, 7 major forex pairs and 4 US stock index ETFs): a price chart with moving averages, ATR and Williams %R; Candle Stats computed from up to 30 years of daily candles; weekly COT positioning with a COT Index, its history and a screener that ranks every market by how hard commercial hedgers lean; curated seasonal windows and day-of-week tendencies; a volatility radar for unusual moves and high-impact headlines; and a news wire per market. Gold, Crude Oil and EUR/USD are free; Pro unlocks every market. - **Learn**: Free guides to installing an EA in MT4 and MT5, backtesting it in the Strategy Tester, demo testing and running a bot on a VPS; plain-language explainers on COT, seasonality, risk and market structure; and 8 daily-chart patterns explained step by step. ## Build strategies from data, like a quant Quant traders start from a measurable tendency, write it down as exact rules, and test those rules before trusting them. PositionAlpha puts each step in one place: 1. Find a tendency. Candle Stats show, for each market, how often each weekday closes above its open, what tends to follow one to three up or down days in a row, the average return by month and by day of the month, where the close tends to land in the day's range, and how often a day's range is above average. Every number shows how many days of history back it, and thin samples are flagged. The COT Index shows where commercial hedgers' net position sits in its 3-year range, and seasonality shows curated windows when a market has historically tended to rise or fall, with the reason behind each. 2. Write it as rules. Describe the tendency to the AI Bot Builder (for example: "buy at Monday's open and close at the end of the day, only from March to June"), or start from a template built on one, such as Day-of-Week Bias, Turn of the Month or Three Down Days. Templates read the market's Candle Stats, say whether they lean for or against the strategy, and can suggest settings that suit the market. 3. Test it. The AI writes the bot; backtest it in MetaTrader's Strategy Tester on your broker's data and run it on a demo account before risking money. Historical statistics describe the past, not the future: a tendency can fade, and the statistics don't include costs such as spread and swap. Candle Stats use UTC calendar days, while many brokers' daily candles end at the New York close. COT reports are weekly and published with a lag, and MetaTrader bots can't read them: COT positioning helps you choose which markets and ideas to research, but it isn't inside the bot's code. ## Plans and pricing Prices are in US dollars. Bots run in the trader's own MetaTrader, on a computer or a VPS (not in MetaTrader's mobile apps). - It doesn't backtest inside the web app yet; use MetaTrader's Strategy Tester. - It only writes MQL4 and MQL5 for MetaTrader, not code for cTrader, NinjaTrader, TradingView strategies or Python. The Pine Script converter writes MQL5 indicators only (no MQL4 yet), and a Pine strategy's order logic isn't converted. The MQL4 converter takes Expert Advisors and indicators as .mq4 source, not scripts, libraries or compiled .ex4 files. The Python converter writes MQL5 only and takes one .py file; code whose main signal comes from a trained machine-learning model, a web API or a data file can't be converted. Fix an EA needs the source code too, not a compiled .ex4 or .ex5 file. - Research data covers 13 commodities, 7 major forex pairs and 4 US stock index ETFs (SPY, QQQ, IWM and DIA), not single stocks or crypto. Bots themselves trade whatever symbol their chart shows. - It isn't a signal service, copy trading, a managed account or investment advice, and no one can promise that a bot will make money. ## Limits and risk - Bots, indicators, conversions and fixed EAs are AI-generated code and can contain mistakes. PositionAlpha doesn't compile, backtest or verify the code before you download it: review it, compile it in MetaEditor, test it in the Strategy Tester and on a demo account before using real money. If a paid bot, indicator or conversion doesn't compile or doesn't follow the approved rules, a developer fixes it; that guarantees working code, not trading results. - Trading involves substantial risk of loss, including when a bot trades for you. - PositionAlpha provides market data, analytics, and educational tools for informational purposes only.
